Course overview
In this course, students will learn the background science and application skills in geographic information systems with a special emphasis on environmental management.
Course learning outcomes
- Demonstrate proficiency in using ArcGIS for spatial data preparation, analysis and visualisation
- Demonstrate proficiency in vector and raster processing
- Interrogate how airborne and spaceborne imaging sensors can provide spatial information for environmental management
- Quantitatively describe the spatial variability of the biophysical environment
- Demonstrate the use of GIS for independent, critical, and creative environmental research
