Course overview

The Reservoir Fluid Thermodynamics (PVT) course provides students with a comprehensive understanding and the ability to model the physical and thermodynamic principles governing the behaviour of reservoir fluids under varying pressure, volume, and temperature conditions.

  • Reservoir Fluids
  • Phase Equilibrium
  • Equation Of States

Course learning outcomes

  • Employ equations of state to describe and simulate gas-liquid equilibrium
  • Describe the fundamentals of Reservoir Thermodynamics & Fluid Properties
  • Identify the reservoir fluid types
  • Conduct full flash calculation and PVT analysis
  • Calculate Reservoir Fluid Properties at a given pressure and temperature
  • Plan required PVT test
  • Use equations of state (EOS) to predict fluid behaviour and reservoir performance
