Course overview
This course covers introduction to robots and their roles in automation and manufacturing systems, robot configurations, industrial robot sensors and components, robot operations, robot programming language and I/O communication, robot kinematics and robot dynamics, and project design on industrial robotics.
Course learning outcomes
- Describe the core principles of industrial robot operations and their applications
- Understand robot coordinates systems and develop modelling of industrial robots
- Apply online and offline methods of robot programming
- Simulate robot operation with a computer simulation program
- Work effectively as a part of a team to develop and run programs on an ABB robot
- Hands-on project on production automation and or research project
