This course provides an overview of different aspects of professional practice and engineering management, encompassing management skills, leadership, decision-making, and ethics, with particular focus on project management to prepare students for managerial roles in engineering firms handling complex systems.

Course learning outcomes
- Explain knowledge of the fundamental underlying concepts and philosophies of Engineering Management and reflect on how these principles can be applied in real-world organisational settings
- Apply various project management skills to establish a master project plan
- Develop a suitable monitoring and control technique to evaluate the progress of a project
- Demonstrate proficiency in decision-making for complex project challenges, considering budget and resource constraints, potential risks, safety issues, and socio-cultural, sustainable and ethical considerations to ensure stakeholder well-being
- Demonstrate effective collaboration and professional conduct, engage in critical reflection, and exhibit proficient written, oral, and graphical communication skills
