Course overview

This course will provide students with knowledge of the relationship between the microstructure, properties, and processing of engineering materials. Students will be introduced to various families of engineering materials and their distinctive characteristics, enabling informed materials selection for specific engineering applications. The course will also cover key topics such as manufacturing processes, material degradation, and the environmental implications of material selection.
