Course learning outcomes
- Analyse the contested nature of the knowledge represented by curriculum and assessment choices and the relationship between pedagogy and social justice and the implications this has for curriculum and assessment practices
- Develop skills in the use of Islamic Research Methodology to critically evaluate curriculum models and resources for depth, authenticity and more effective alignment of the standards of the Australian national curriculum with the curriculum perspectives and models employed in Islamic school settings
- Critically analyse diverse curriculum models, pedagogical approaches, and assessment methods employed in Islamic schools in relation to distinct visions, perspectives, and aims
- Create curriculum development plans for renewal of Islamic school curriculum based on innovative ideas on curriculum design and pedagogy and assessment practices within an Islamic pedagogy for Islamic schooling contexts introduced in the course
