Course overview

This course provides essential knowledge to support student success as a pre-service teacher primarily in the senior years of schooling. The purpose of the course is to provide core knowledge to support high quality teaching and student learning through effective evaluation of student needs, inclusive practices, deep knowledge of senior secondary curriculum, development of explicit learning intentions, planning, selection of appropriate pedagogies, development of effective teacher-student relationships, assessment design and teaching practices and reflective practice. Students will design teaching and learning units of work, teaching episodes, assessment tasks and practice and reflect on a range of pedagogical approaches appropriate to outdoor and environmental education.
