Course overview
This course aims to develop critical perspectives on curriculum, pedagogy and assessment and an understanding of their relationships to democratic participation and an inclusive society. Students will critically analyse how curriculum, in alignment with pedagogy and assessment, reproduces and/or transforms schools and society. The course enables students to critically analyse concepts of knowledge and social justice and apply these to specific contexts as they build knowledge through inquiry and dialogue.

- Articulate a theorised account of democratic curriculum
- Explain the role of curriculum in the reproduction and/or transformation of society
- Apply concepts of curricular justice to analyse curricular, pedagogical and assessment practices
- Critically analyse the forms of knowledge evident in contemporary classrooms and schools
