Students will explore fundamental movement skills to craft and sequence appropriate learning experiences for diverse learners in primary settings.

Course learning outcomes

  • Recognise and document individual diversity in movement capabilities and characteristics associated with the spectrum of novice learners
  • Devise and structure aligned learning situations which are inclusive and promote maximum individual participation
  • Explore fundamental movement skills and their application in appropriate learning experiences for junior primary students
  • Evaluate theory and demonstrate the ability to apply simplifying, shaping and enhancing processes using Play Practice principles
  • Plan and teach a series of sequenced lessons to develop the novice learner across various categories of games and sports
