Course overview
In this course students will explore fundamental movement skills to craft and organise appropriate learning experiences for diverse learners in primary settings, unpacking the pedagogical implications. Planning will aim to foster success, inclusivity, and participation within a supportive learning environment. The play practice approach to teaching is explored to develop novice learners across a variety of games and sports.

Course learning outcomes
- Recognise and document individual diversity in movement capabilities and characteristics associated with the spectrum of novice learners
- Devise and structure aligned learning situations which are inclusive and promote maximum individual participation
- Explore fundamental movement skills and their application in appropriate learning experiences for junior primary students
- Evaluate theory and demonstrate the ability to apply simplifying, shaping, and enhancing processes using Play Practice principles
- Plan and teach a series of sequenced lessons to develop the novice learner across various categories of games and sports
