Course overview
This course aims to ensure students gain knowledge of literature for children, and understand concepts of characterisation, plot, world building, register, genre, representation, context, and multimodality. Students will gain experience in analysing children’s literature in a range of forms applying their knowledge of key concepts. Students will adopt an inquiry approach to considering children’s responses to literary texts, taking into account the sociocultural diversity of readers.
