Course overview

This course aims to develop pre-service teachers capacities to plan, teach, assess and manage the classroom in diverse contexts.

Course learning outcomes

  • Apply knowledge of current school curricula in Australia to lesson and unit planning
  • Sequence learning within and across lessons and evaluate the effectiveness
  • Use a range of appropriate classroom management practices that build positive relationships with students to facilitate wellbeing and engagement
  • Plan for and implement a range of teaching practices including differentiation for diverse learning communities
  • Design diagnostic, formative and summative assessments based on curriculum frameworks that enable feedback to students and produce effective assessment data for informing planning, teaching and reporting
