Course overview
This course completes students learning journey in the Master of Education program and has been designed as an opportunity to reflect on their learning so far and to pursue, in some depth, an issue, a concept, or an inquiry which is of interest to them as an educator or educational administrator. Students will be challenged to undertake a research-informed project which is of relevance to their professional practice and will be individually supported through this process by the guidance of an assigned supervisor with experience of conducting educational research.
Course learning outcomes
- Determine and define a problem, based on an area of professional interest and need, and develop an appropriate project proposal through which it can be investigated
- Identify, analyse and report relevant academic literature related to the topic of investigation and position your own project in relation to this
- Conduct an investigation using an appropriate traditional or non-traditional research approach
- Critically reflect upon and evaluate both the process and the outcome of your project
