Course overview

To enable students to define their own position in relation to the major debates and issues in the field of contemporary research in education and to further develop critical analytic skills of reading and interrogating research, and on theorising educational issues.

Course learning outcomes

  • Demonstrate a familiarity with some of the research literature in their field.
  • To articulate their own position in relation to this literature.
  • To assist others to understand the dimensions and debates within literature.
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively as a professional demonstrate a familiarity with international perspectives on educational policy development.
  • Demonstrate a familiarity with Australian education policy and its relationship to social and economic/ political change, and to contexts of professional work.
  • Assist others to understand specific issues within the student's professional area of interest.
