Course overview

Foundations of Education uses multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research as a means to understand education as a field, and how it is applied to teaching as an educational practice. Students will be introduced to different ways of looking at education, supported by links to classic and contemporary research.

  • Demonstrate deep knowledge and critical understanding of contemporary educational policies, practices and/or discourses that impact on the foundations of education
  • Integrate relevant research and educational theory to develop a broad repertoire of subject appropriate teaching and learning strategies
