Course overview

To critically engage teachers with their own mathematical and pedagogical practice and how it impacts on improving the engagement and performance of their learners in K-12 mathematics.

Course learning outcomes

  • Critically analyse current models of mathematics teacher learning and their relation to student learning
  • Examine mathematics teacher learning from different theoretical perspectives
  • Critically apply their own experiences and research findings to develop effective professional development programs for mathematics teachers
