Course overview

To enable students to relate the values and understandings of critical reflection to an analysis and development of teaching proficiencies as required for a specific educational sector.

Course learning outcomes

  • Demonstrate a professional attitude to teaching and the development of performance
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills of logical

  • Work in a variety of ways including autonomous and self-directed and collaborative group work and team teaching with Mentors in an educational setting
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ethical action and social responsibility through recognising social justice issues and reflecting on the ethical justification of actions in workshops and in professional experience block
  • Develop skills to communicate in a variety of ways that are appropriate to particular settings and audiences
  • Demonstrate an awareness of own culture and the way it informs beliefs about teaching and learning by valuing diversity of language and culture in teaching
