To examine curricular frameworks within the context of its organising body and to investigate its application through specialisations in school settings.

Course learning outcomes

  • Explain a Humanities and Social Sciences curricular and syllabus framework and associated documents as they apply to your specialisation in an upper secondary school context
  • Explain factors to be considered in the design, planning and implementation of a Humanities and Social Sciences specialisation within the context of a senior secondary curriculum framework
  • Indicate how key Humanities and Social Sciences values, perspectives and Essential Learnings, can be integrated into planning for learning in the senior secondary years
  • Apply skills of observation, reflection and critical analysis to a curricular framework and its application in context
