Course overview
This course will provide students with an opportunity to undertake a community service project in order to develop an appreciation for how their discipline knowledge intersects with community (as distinct from corporate) need. Students will work in multi-disciplinary teams to manage real projects and solve real problems experienced by community organisations. They will work with the community partner to understand their needs, scope the project and develop viable and sustainable solutions.
Students will complete a learning journal throughout the course which reflects on the progress of the project, their use of the knowledge and skills taught throughout their degree, and the relevance of the service-learning project experience to their future careers.
