Course overview

To introduce students to the Humanities and Social Sciences curriculum area in middle years and lower secondary schooling contexts.

Course learning outcomes

  • Describe the nature and purpose of middle and lower secondary school Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Humanities and Social Sciences within the ACARA curriculum framework
  • Describe a range of methodological approaches, strategies, techniques and resources that can be employed to enhance middle and lower secondary school Humanities and Social Sciences teaching and learning processes
  • Articulate and substantiate personal perspectives of the roles, skills and attributes of effective teachers of Humanities and Social Sciences in middle school and the lower secondary school
