This course aims to explore pedagogies for working with children from different language backgrounds and working with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Australian Curriculum: Languages to support teachers of languages and the teaching of languages in early childhood and primary settings.

Course learning outcomes
- Identify the languages and cultures knowledges children and young people bring to learning sites, their relationship to concepts of self, identity, community and place, and how these impact learning
- Analyse languages education policy, frameworks and curricula, including the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Australian Curriculum: Languages to support learners’ plurilingual capabilities and languages inclusion in classrooms and sites
- Apply strategies and pedagogies to promote language development and learning in linguistically and culturally diverse sites, centres and classrooms
