Course overview

To engage students with concepts of literacies as having differential power in their personal and professional lives.

Course learning outcomes

  • investigate, critique, develop and practise their own emerging and professional literacies
  • demonstrate critical reading practices in regard to a range of professional texts and contexts
  • engage with information and communication technologies and analyse their impact on literacy practices in education
  • recognise the diversity of languages, cultures and literacy practices in educational communities and consider the implications for teaching and learning
  • identify the discourses and texts of different educational fields and practices
