Course overview
This course aims to support preservice teachers to develop a professional identity. They will learn about the role of the teacher in the 21st century and explore how this is articulated within frameworks, such as the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and the Teacher Registration Board’s code of conduct. Preservice teachers will then be expected to act professionally as they engage in their first placement in schools. Key pedagogies, along with the learning theories that underpin them, will be explored. Preservice Teachers will then critically reflect on the pedagogies that they observe while on placement.
