Course learning outcomes

  • Display effective professional relationships and dispositions with children, families, colleagues and other professionals in the early years setting
  • Apply knowledge and skills with creativity, initiative and a high level of personal autonomy, accountability and respect while working in a team setting within the field and on campus
  • Apply and synthesise an advanced body of knowledge of children birth to 3 years in planning and engaging with children in an emergent inquiry based pedagogy
  • Design and evaluate critically documentation for children’s learning and development using the EYLF and other relevant frameworks and resources
  • Manage the daily tasks, routines and administrative duties associated with the work of educators in an early years setting
  • Critically reflect on teaching and learning experiences in the light of social, economic and political contexts, including professional standards, policies, legal and ethical guidelines for the profession, frameworks and developing beliefs of the role of early-years education
