Course overview
Drawing on research from education, psychology, organisational psychology and the social sciences, this course explores issues of safety and wellbeing for individuals, families and communities, including the impacts of trauma and supporting recovery and fostering resilience.
Course learning outcomes
- Identify social processes impacting children, young people and their families
- Understand and critically examine changing family contexts and impacts on children and young people
- Identify and explain aspects of child safety, protection and abuse and respond effectively to assist children and young people while maintaining safe, inclusive learning and living environments
- Understand and critically apply evidence-based approaches to support children and young people, their families and communities
