Course overview
To enable students to further examine programming and planning in English in the middle years including consideration of disadvantaged students and the place of English in an integrated middle schooling curriculum.
Course learning outcomes
- take account of the different needs, interests and backgrounds of young adolescents and emerging adults; and have developed skills in assessing and addressing issues in literacy development
- make judgments about the suitability of various texts for teaching young adolescents and emerging adult learners
- prepare and assess an English program for a class in the middle years within a particular framework
- make judgments on learners' demonstrated skills and understandings within the requirements of a particular framework
- have a repertoire of strategies for teaching texts, recording learners' achievements, and supporting students with difficulties
- discuss equity issues and English

If you are continuing in a program you commenced prior to 1 January 2021, or are commencing an Honours degree relating to an undergraduate degree you commenced prior to 1 January 2021, you may be charged a different Student Contribution amount from the amount displayed below. Please check the Student Contribution bands for continuing students here. If you are an international student, or a domestic student studying in a full fee paying place, and are continuing study that you commenced in 2025 or earlier, your fees will be available here before enrolments open for 2026.
