To develop an understanding of the concepts of language, culture and learning and their interrelationship in teaching languages in Australian schools.
Course learning outcomes
- Plan, implement and reflect on learning experiences that explore concepts of language and culture
- Design learning sequences with reference to curriculum frameworks
- Apply appropriate language teaching strategies and pedagogies to language teaching in Australian education contexts, including selection and use of appropriate resources
- Critically reflect on concepts in language education, and development as learners, users, and teachers of languages in secondary education
