Course overview
The aim of this course is to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to support students to foster positive and safe learning environments by proactively supporting productive student behaviours. This course places creating positive learning environments as an essential pillar of the teaching and learning process.

Course learning outcomes
- A strong understanding of the role of rules and routines in establishing a structured, safe, and positive classroom environment
- A clear understanding of the efficacy of proactive practices in preventing misbehaviour and/or disengagement, including the role of high-quality instruction as a proactive practice
- An ability to practise and apply proactive practices, including setting high expectations, building positive relationships, providing structure, and setting ambitious, achievable and personalised goals
- An ability to practise and apply techniques that positively and effectively manage behaviour in classroom contexts, including the use of calm, consistent and proportional responses, behaviour modelling and feedback that gives attention to the desired behaviour rather than the undesired behaviour
- A foundational understanding of common whole-school behaviour frameworks

If you are continuing in a program you commenced prior to 1 January 2021, or are commencing an Honours degree relating to an undergraduate degree you commenced prior to 1 January 2021, you may be charged a different Student Contribution amount from the amount displayed below.
