Course overview

This course aims to broaden and deepen specialist knowledge of cinematic storytelling to a professional standard. The course consolidates students' theory, knowledge and practice of previous film and television production courses and integrates these skills to produce and post-produce an industry-standard film or television production developed in the course FTV Major Project 1.

Course learning outcomes

  • Apply advanced storytelling knowhow, screen production strategies, and technical skills in the making of an industry-standard film or television production
  • Perform a head-of-department or above-the-line specialist role, individually and collaboratively, to a professional standard as part of an industry model of production or post-production
  • Perform a below-the-line specialist crew role, individually and collaboratively, to a professional standard as part of an industry model of production or post-production
  • Evaluate their professional practice in the context of contemporary creative and industry drivers
