Course overview

This course will introduce students to the techniques of feature film screenwriting across a range of genres. Students will study feature film scripts, storyboards and pitch documents from various national cinemas and eras, with the aim of developing their screenwriting skills. Modules in the course will cover the basic drafting, storytelling, dialogue and narrative techniques required to realise a film. Hands-on screenwriting workshops will be the key structured learning in the course, giving students the opportunity to write and produce short scenes based on their scripts.
