Course overview
This immersive industry based course, delivered on-site at Rising Sun Pictures, will build upon students’ existing visual effects knowledge, and familiarises students with professional practice in the visual effects industry, providing the theory, skills, and techniques to produce industry-standard dynamic effects simulations. In this course, students will undertake a series of advanced production projects that will emulate the processes of a professional production schedule. Students will be required to extend their effects and lighting skills in order to produce a high quality, finished project for inclusion in their showreel, and to be presented to peers and RSP staff at the end of the course. By the completion of the course, students will have acquired the skills required to produce industry standard photorealistic dynamic effects sequences.
Course learning outcomes
- Critically analyse and implement industry-standard dynamic effects and lighting production practices
- Apply key tools and techniques within industry standard software to generate professional quality photorealistic dynamic effects simulations
- Demonstrate autonomy and adaptability in planning and managing a program of work to meet a production brief and its deadline through iterative project submission and review
- Demonstrate direction within a simulated team environment and produce work that meets industry-standard quality assurance and review processes
