Course overview
This course provides students with a 30-day full-time internship that integrates academic learning with professional experience. Students will undertake a work-integrated learning placement approved by the course coordinator within a host organisation relevant to their discipline. The internship will involve applying discipline knowledge in a professional context through activities such as project planning, execution, evaluation, and reflective practice, while developing workplace readiness and professional capabilities.

Course learning outcomes
- Apply a broad body of discipline knowledge, professional practice and relevant principles and techniques to produce high quality deliverables within a work integrated learning context.
- Design and develop an information technology-based solution to solve a given business problem statement.
- Demonstrate intellectual and professional autonomy by contributing to all elements of the project when working independently or collaboratively.
- Demonstrate professional integrity, ethical behaviour and respect while making decisions informed by independent thinking, evidence, and ethical code of conduct.
- Prepare resources, solutions and instructions for diverse stakeholders using a range of techniques including written, oral, and visual communication.
- Exhibit cultural sensitivities and respect for the practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by considering local cultural requirements within all aspects of the project where appropriate.
