Course overview
This advanced course will allow students to review existing literature and design a research project to produce an output that extends the understanding of their discipline. Students will research a topic, propose a research project, and communicate the design of the research project to peers. Students will have a strong foundation in research planning and will experience the early phases of research.
Course learning outcomes
- Evaluate open research problems in Computer Science
- Evaluate research literature and industrial documentation to identify solutions for the chosen problem
- Devise the timeframe and development processes of the thesis
- Develop a research proposal to describe the steps to produce the solution
