Course overview

This course provides an introduction to blockchain-based solutions, with a focus on the programming languages used for smart contracts in the distributed ledger space. Students will apply their knowledge of blockchain systems, ethics, and provenance to design and develop authentic solutions to real-world problems.

Course learning outcomes

  • Describe blockchain computational models and smart contract languages
  • Evaluate the resource footprint of a distributed ledger solution
  • Apply ethical knowledge to identify ethical risks in distributed ledger solutions
  • Design smart contract solutions to assigned problems
  • Evaluate the solutions to identify efficiency and ethical issues
