Course overview

This course will advance students' investigative and storytelling skills in any medium to produce in-depth journalism of industry standard. Students learn and practise sophisticated reporting techniques designed to build on and advance journalistic practices. This includes complex abilities to seek appropriate information and interpret it from hybrid contexts including data in mass and electronic formats. This course will also bring together research methods in journalism scholarship as well as journalism practices required in depth reporting as valid academic research per se. This course consolidates students' theoretical knowledge and skills in journalism and professional writing, and integrates these skills with their research skills.
