Course overview
The aim of this course is to extend the knowledge and skills gained in previous courses to deepen the understanding of the applied context of public communication, the use of media and the management of communication. This course addresses current industry concerns and student demand relating to graduate readiness by providing students with an in-depth understanding of critical business functions and skills, including budgeting, financial reporting, the processes of evaluation, consultancy practice, business development, presentation skills, entrepreneurship and leadership. While the course has a strong applied focus, students will also be required to demonstrate and apply knowledge and understanding of advanced communication theories, particularly in relation to networking, creative industry policies, communication technology and theories of persuasion.
