To prepare students for the university environment by equipping them with academic literacy skills.
Course learning outcomes
- Demonstrate key reading, note-taking, summarising, and paraphrasing skills to locate, recognise, evaluate, and utilise key ideas.
- Interpret rules and conventions of academic writing, including the development of written piece from first draft to submission-ready draft.
- Apply planning, structure, and editing to writing; and to evaluate how well their work is meeting marking criteria.
- Create and construct an effective argument to convince a reader (including writing for audio purposes).
- Display correct application of referencing conventions, and an understanding of the importance of academic integrity values.

If you are continuing in a program you commenced prior to 1 January 2021, or are commencing an Honours degree relating to an undergraduate degree you commenced prior to 1 January 2021, you may be charged a different Student Contribution amount from the amount displayed below. If you are an international student, or a domestic student studying in a full fee paying place, and are continuing study that you commenced in 2025 or earlier, your fees will be available here before enrolments open for 2026.
