Course overview
The course aims to familiarise students with professional practice and industry standards in digital compositing for film and visual effects, and provides the theory, skills, and techniques to produce complex visual effects sequences. During the course, students will develop an understanding of key compositing techniques and practices, and will build advanced skills in industry standard software. Assessment tasks will allow students to apply their learning within key areas including colour correction, rotoscoping, keying, and tracking.

Course learning outcomes
- Produce a finished shot that utilises all of the different skills in the compositing pipeline.
- Apply key tools and techniques within industry standard software to generate composited film sequences.
- Apply key tools and techniques within industry standard software to generate 2D and 3D tracked sequences.
- Produce complex composited film sequences.
