Course overview

This project-based course engages students in a equity-research and risk-advisory project reflecting real industry practice. Working in teams, students' scope, plan, and execute a full analytical engagement, applying advanced valuation and risk-management techniques. Each project stage requires managing data, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations while producing authentic professional outputs such as analyst reports, crisis memos, and board-style presentations. The experience develops the analytical rigour, ethical awareness, and collaborative soft skills expected of finance professionals operating in complex, high-pressure environments.

Course learning outcomes

  • Critically evaluate, synthesise, and apply advanced financial theories and techniques to analyse company valuation, risk exposures, and strategic decision-making.

  • Collaborate effectively in a team, demonstrating adaptability, accountability, and the capacity to design and contribute to professional outputs under complex conditions.
