Course overview

This course enables students to apply analytical skills to solve real-world business problems. It emphasises how data-driven inquiry can inform strategic decision-making and enhance competitive advantage. Through a guided project experience, students will learn to integrate analytical techniques with managerial judgment, transforming data into meaningful insights and actionable strategies. It also fosters the development of professional communication skills for articulating analytical findings to diverse business audiences.

Course learning outcomes

  • Identify business problems that are strategic for creating and sustaining competitive advantage.
  • Prepare a business analytics project roadmap that includes detailed plans for data collection, exploratory analysis, and statistical modelling to address the identified business problems.
  • Synthesise findings and formulate actionable recommendations based on descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
  • Communicate complex analytical insights clearly and effectively to business stakeholders, both orally and in writing.
