Course overview
This course provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge of business ethics, corporate governance and sustainable business, and explores their impact on organisational management and leadership, business strategy, and business conduct. The course critically examines the role of business in society and how this role might be fulfilled. The role of business and society; Business ethics; Sustainable business concepts; Corporate governance practices.
Course learning outcomes
- Acquire a body of knowledge of, and critically reflect on, theoretical and practice-based principles of ethics, governance and sustainability and the impacts these have on organisational management and leadership.
- Critically assess and evaluate the role of business in society and how this role might be fulfilled.
- Apply principles of business ethics, sustainable business and corporate governance to organisational management and leadership in international business environments.
- Demonstrate UniSA Business Enterprise Skills: i) Ethical Awareness (intermediate and advanced levels); and ii) Oral Communication (advanced level).
