Course overview

The aim of this course is to provide students with the advanced research skills needed to identify and define business information needs, and to select and implement strategies and validated methods for obtaining, analysing, and reporting that information. The aim of this course is topics include researching and identifying business decision-makers' information needs, desk research, research design, survey research methods, qualitative research, quantitative research, analysis methods, and reporting research findings.

Course learning outcomes

  • Critically analyse business decision-making information needs.
  • Critically analyse and evaluate businesses' current research (information acquisition) policies and practices.
  • Compare and contrast alternative evidence-based solutions to information needs.
  • Recommend cost-effective research solutions.
  • Design and implement research solutions to information needs.
