Course overview

The aim of this course is to enable students to evaluate an industry challenge, design a prototype and gather user feedback, to convince stakeholders to invest in the proposed digital solution. Identifying the Business Challenge, Product Design/Ideation, Prototype Development (3weeks), Voice of the Customer, Costing and Value Case (2weeks), Negotiation

Course learning outcomes

  • Evaluate an industry challenge and assess how digital technology could be applied to address the challenge.
  • Apply design thinking approaches to prototype a solution to the industry challenge.
  • Investigate alternative solution options and argue why the proposed solution best addresses the industry challenge.
  • Design a test for the prototype, gather user feedback and make improvements to the prototype.
  • Develop proposal to request funding to develop minimum viable product version of prototyped solution.
