Course overview

To enable students to participate in informed debate on the application of selected management concepts and apply knowledge gained.

Course learning outcomes

  • Define management concepts in the areas of risk management; corporate social responsibility; workplace diversity; management of business sustainability
  • Develop a structure and critical thinking framework for analysing application of the management concepts
  • Analyse and summarise the resultant impact of current research and policy in the management areas
  • Identify and debate technological, human, organisational and procedural issues related to the applied management concepts from a global perspective
  • Demonstrate an understanding of a range of social, economic, industrial, legal and environmental perspectives relating to the management concepts and their impact on the workplace from employer and employee perspectives
