Course overview
The aim of this course is to develop knowledge, skills and perspectives about effective communication in business and the use and value of information systems in the workplace.
Course learning outcomes
- Explain how theories of communication and business information systems influence organisations
- Locate and appropriately acknowledge research literature to provide rationales for decision-making in academic and professional contexts
- Collect and analyse data in order to suggest ways to enhance communication in the business environment
- Describe typical uses of business information systems to support the business processes of an organisation
- Develop communication skills and international perspectives in workplace settings
- Work collaboratively in team settings

If you are continuing in a program you commenced prior to 1 January 2021, or are commencing an Honours degree relating to an undergraduate degree you commenced prior to 1 January 2021, you may be charged a different Student Contribution amount from the amount displayed below. If you are an international student, or a domestic student studying in a full fee paying place, and are continuing study that you commenced in 2025 or earlier, your fees will be available here before enrolments open for 2026.
