Course overview

The aim of this course is to provide opportunities to students to research, analyse, and draw conclusions on the use of digital technologies in business and their potential to disrupt different industries. Exploring how digital technologies are being used in business today. The course will analyse how digital technologies have the potential to disrupt different industries including examples from Accenture research and how Accenture are using the digital technologies internally and with clients.

Technology fundamentals

Automation fundamentals: Personal Automation, Desktop Automation The aim of this course is tools, Robotic Process Automation, Intelligence Automation
Internet of Things fundamentals: Sensor, Circuits/Battery, Embedded Systems, Wireless Connectivity and Networking
Security fundamentals: Product Security, Data Security, Governance, Secure Ops, Cyber Intelligence
AR/VR fundamentals: Immersive learning with AR/VR, XR consumer Journey, Virtual Merchandising, AR Connected Worker
Machine Learning fundamentals: Machine Learning The aim of this course is tools, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing

Course learning outcomes

  • Describe the key features of digital technologies introduced during this course.
  • Research a selection of digital technologies and their potential to disrupt industries.
  • Analyse cases in which digital technology has been used to address business challenges.
  • Apply knowledge to predict the disruptions that a digital technology could have on future business.
  • Communicate effectively the characteristics and opportunities of the featured technologies to a business audience.
