Course overview

This course enables students to apply knowledge from prior study and research skill development to formulate a comprehensive research proposal and design. Working both independently and collaboratively, students will produce written and oral submissions that address critical issues in construction management. The course prepares students for Construction Management Research Project B and fosters the skills required for lifelong learning.

Course learning outcomes

  • Consolidate theoretical and technical knowledge and research and analytical skills to plan and execute a research-based project
  • Apply Critical thinking skills to review published literature related to a research topic and synthesise a written literature review
  • Apply systems thinking to determine, develop and implement the most appropriate research method to investigate a research topic demonstrating a commitment to ethical actions
  • Demonstrate the ability to work as a member of a professional team, displaying both team-work skills and autonomy
