Course overview
Students will demonstrate an advanced understanding and apply principles of performance regulation, ethics and professional practice as a Building Surveyor.
Course learning outcomes
- Critically review the structure and operation of Local Governments, Statutory Authorities and private certifiers to the activities of the construction Industry in Australia and in the International context
- Critically review the professional services that building surveyors perform, reflecting on both the inspection/report and assessment based work as well as the professional consulting role
- Evaluate ethical courses of action, according to professional body ethical codes of conduct, to be followed by building surveyors in various industry scenarios
- Develop skills to generate detailed reports on buildings and carry out building surveys and inspections
