Course overview

The course aims to demonstrate an advanced understanding and apply principles of modern construction methods, business management, ethics and professional practice as a Construction Manager.

Course learning outcomes

  • Develop and demonstrate key skills and attributes necessary for management of construction businesses including marketing, strategic management and business planning
  • Compare and contrast differing organisational structures for construction firms (including inter-state and international companies) and understand how this affects decision making
  • Generate and evaluate key financial accounting data in order to make strategic business decisions and communicate such outcomes with decision makers
  • Application of knowledge of the Australian industrial relations framework, professional practice and business ethics to construction management profession
  • Explore and evaluate modern construction methods for the construction industry
