Course overview

Students will develop a deeper understanding of the building surveying practice such as building certification, compliance and building control.

Course learning outcomes

  • Interpret, analyse and appraise building design against the requirements of the NCC V2 and Australian Standards
  • Demonstrate operation of statutes, the NCC V2 and related documents relevant to residential construction
  • Apply the principles of and appraise performance design in accordance with NCC V2
  • Demonstrate diverse communication skills including report writing and creation of drawings to show understanding for the perspective of the designer and assessor of buildings
