Course overview

Students will build a deeper understanding of the management of construction projects with a particular emphasis on risk, quality, and people management.

Course learning outcomes

  • Apply risk management theory to identify, analyse and evaluate risks in construction projects
  • Recommend alternative courses of action to manage, monitor and control risks in construction projects
  • Apply quality management theory to prepare quality management plans for construction projects
  • Demonstrate business management skills including personnel and resources management, leadership, and communication in construction businesses
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork and effective communication as a construction management professional
